BARC Launches ‘Home for the Holidays’ with Empty the Shelters Campaign, Offers Full Month of Events
BARC, the City of Houston’s Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, is gearing up for its annual Home for the Holidays campaign. Throughout the month of December, BARC will be hosting a series of adoption events and campaigns to find loving homes for shelter pets and provide family-friendly activities for pet owners in Houston. The highlight of this year’s campaign is the partnership with BISSELL Pet Foundation for the “Empty the Shelters – Holiday Hope” adoption event. With the support of BISSELL Pet Foundation, BARC aims to waive all adoption fees and make a significant impact on the lives of shelter pets.
Empty the Shelters – Holiday Hope:
BARC is joining forces with BISSELL Pet Foundation for the “Empty the Shelters – Holiday Hope” adoption event from December 1 to 17. This event will take place in more than 380 shelters across 43 states, including BARC. Thanks to BISSELL Pet Foundation’s sponsorship, BARC will waive all adoption fees during this period, making it easier for families to welcome a new furry friend into their homes.
Home for the Pawlidays:
To further promote adoptions, BARC will be hosting an offsite adoption event called “Home for the Pawlidays” on December 2. This event will be held at 2025 West 11th Street in Houston and will provide an opportunity for potential adopters to meet and interact with the shelter pets in a festive setting.
Kendra Scott Gives Back:
On December 9, BARC will be organizing a community outreach event in partnership with Kendra Scott, a renowned jewelry brand. The event, called “Kendra Scott Gives Back,” will take place at 714 Yale St Suite 1D in Houston. Attendees will have the chance to shop for beautiful jewelry while supporting BARC’s mission to find homes for shelter pets.
PetSmart Adoption Event:
BARC will also be hosting an offsite adoption event at PetSmart on December 16. Located at 1907 Taylor St. in Houston, this event will provide an additional opportunity for potential adopters to meet and connect with BARC’s adorable animals.
Pictures with Santa Paws:
Spread the holiday cheer and capture memories with your furry friends at the “Pictures with Santa Paws” event on December 16-17. Held at 3300 Carr St., Houston, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., families can bring their pets to have their photos taken with Santa Claus.
Home for the Holidays Finale:
To conclude the month-long campaign, BARC will be hosting the “Home for the Holidays Finale” on December 23rd. Adoption fees will once again be waived, encouraging families to give a shelter pet the gift of a forever home just in time for the holidays.
