During a visit to Northern Penobscot Tech in Lincoln, Governor Mills witnessed firsthand the impact of the Jobs Plan funding. The welding program at the school received a boost with the expansion of their welding shop, featuring new welding booths, welders, and ventilators. This expansion allows Northern Penobscot Tech to enroll more students in the welding program, providing them with industry accreditation, college credit, and the skills necessary to succeed in the job market or pursue higher education. With experienced welders earning an average wage of over $52,000 per year, this certification opens doors to a range of rewarding career opportunities.
